4th June - I accidentally deleted the original blog post. Feeling a bit low right now, forgot to take my meds last night and I'm really feeling the effects at the moment. Not good, could sit here and bawl, but I won't. I'll do some work and come back to this later... probably.
Dreamt about ZQ - "You're odd but I'm used to you."
Okay I returned to this blog tonight, 12-07-09
Looking at what dream ZQ said, I think that's pretty much how everyone who knows me must feel.
Really sad, lost another member of the family unexpectedly. It was awful, her parents obviously devastated - you don't expect to bury your children. Everyone had to wear bright colours for the funeral - flip flops if you had them. It looked more like a wedding than a funeral! It was nice... as nice as funerals go, anyway.
Hokay, more mundane matters. My laptop finally decided the keyboard was going to quit on me. Buggerations is putting it seriously mildly. I took it to PCW (been paying insurance on it, thank god) on Friday 3rd only to be told that the wait could be 2 - 6 weeks! Not only that, the courier wouldn't be picking it up until the following Tuesday 7th.
I work from home and the only access I have to my work is pretty much via my laptop. I have a wonderful little MacBook which I'm using now to type this work of genius! Ha! This little powerhouse has outlived 2 Windows based laptops. I LOVE MY MACBOOK!
The downside to this is the software I need. It is seriously expensive for a Mac. To update it to Adobe CS4 alone would cost me nearly £1300 and there is no way that I can afford this, and neither can the company I work for. So without my access to all things Adobe, specifically Photo Shop, Fireworks and Dreamweaver, I've had to scour the Net to find acceptable replacements. I found a pretty good code Editor called EditRocket, pure code no design view, GIMP is a good image editor, CuteFTP Mac - or even Firefox's FireFTP. For IMAP email, I'd recommend Mulberry. I had to buy Office for Mac, which - sorry guys - I'm going to have to charge the company for. Wasn't too bad, £99 - home office and student edition.
Okay, so my poor little Mac was only 512MB ram and was struggling, so I thought 'd treat her to a little RAM upgrade - My baby now has 2GIG RAM and moves along like poop off a scoop!
This is a bit of an odd blog, even for me I s'pose.
On 7th July, it was my Nan's 90th Birthday! Our side of the family all went to see her. We arrived en-masse bearing gifts, cards and special cake. She looked fabulous too, I'll upload photos later. My Nan is a very special person, she looked after us when Mum and Dad were at work and I always stayed with her after school until they came home too. The rest of the grand-children who didn't have an excuse not to see her, coldn't be bloody bothered and it makes me sick. The ones who aren't living here and/or work away from home, it's understandable, but when they live in the same bloody city and don't bother with her, they need their fecking asses kicked.
Okay, heart rate gone up a bit too much after that 'venting of the spleen.' It does piss me off though, when she did so much for them and their famiilies and they just don't bother.
I can hear a fly in here, but I can't see it. That's going to keep me awake for a while! hehe
It's my oldest sister's birthday tomorrow, oh looking at the time now, it's today! She's 50!! Poor old git! We're going to see her later today, to tease her and do all sorts of awful things that you do to famly when you love them! Ha!
Okay, calling it a night and I shall now, finally, upload this portion of the blog.
