This is the 3rd time I've written this particular piece!  Damn laptop jammed and I lost it... in more ways than one.

Okay, now to the general 'geek' part of this.

Star Trek - How many people are looking forward to this??  Me, for a start! I've been downloading everything I can get my sticky little mitts on.  Why?? I've been a fan since I was really little.  I remember watching the re-runs on BBC2 and being scared by the 'flying pancake' things when they landed on Mr Spock's back.  I'm sure someone out there could tell me the name of that particular episode, but for the life of me, I can't remember it now.

Spock might have been my favourite character, but I always wanted to be "Captain's Crumpet" when I got older.  God, I'm shallow!

Zachary Quinto who plays Spock in the new film, is a total ringer! It looks amazing, he looks amazing. The guy who plays Chekov (Anton Yelchin) looks so young... crap I'm really feeling old now. Still, it does evoke an awful lot of childhood memories and I'm lucky enough to have really good memories. Great family - sisters, cousins we all used to 'hang out' together when we were kids.  Thankfully we are all still really close. 

Sadly, one of my cousins died suddenly just before Christmas 08, totally unexpectedly.  That was so awful and heart-breaking.  Even though we didn't see each other every week, I miss her like crazy.  Wonderful sense of humour - a teasing little bugger when we were kids!  Much loved and much missed, Our Mo! xx
